Junior Accountant – Pretoria (R13,000)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Junior Accountant with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting functions. The role involves managing creditors, debtors, VAT, financials and cash flow, using Xero accounting software, and requires the ability to work independently while handling general administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Process, reconcile and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoice payments and collections.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and support senior staff with accurate record‑keeping.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure all tax filings comply with statutory regulations.
• Support costing and budgeting activities, reviewing models, monitoring spend versus budget and reporting variances.
• Track daily cash flow, maintain adequate liquidity and help forecast future cash requirements.
• Participate in periodic stock takes, reconcile inventory and maintain accurate stock records.
• Assist with payroll processing and manage payee records.
• Use Xero daily for transaction recording, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Perform general finance‑related administrative duties and keep organized documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant accounting experience.
• Professional certification preferred (SAIPA, SAICA or equivalent).
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and solve problems analytically.
