Java Backend Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Java Backend Software Engineer to join a licensed Payment Service Provider platform. The role is fully remote and supports U.S.-based clients, so you must be able to work during U.S. business hours. You will collaborate directly with technical leads and leadership to build secure, scalable, and reliable financial infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build scalable services that handle financial transactions and payment processing workflows.
• Contribute to architecture decisions that improve reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Manage data persistence with PostgreSQL, including schema migrations and data integrity.
• Write unit tests with JUnit and integration tests for new features.
• Maintain high code quality through rigorous testing and code reviews.
• Participate in GitHub‑based workflows, including branching, pull requests, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Use Docker for local development and ensure environment consistency.
• Support CI/CD processes and deployment best practices.
• Assist in developing PSP and payment‑related systems and integrations.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Proven ability to work on microservice architectures.
• Familiarity with fintech or payment processing environments is a plus.
• Comfortable working remotely and aligning with U.S. business hours.
