IT Technical Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Technical Project Manager to lead large‑scale technology initiatives for a regulated, fast‑moving organisation. You will own end‑to‑end delivery of complex platform projects, working closely with business leaders, technical teams and external partners to ensure timely, on‑budget outcomes aligned with strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, timelines and deliverables and maintain detailed project plans.
• Lead cross‑functional teams across technical and business units, managing risks, issues and dependencies.
• Oversee data migration, system implementation and legacy system decommissioning.
• Ensure quality through testing, governance and execution control.
• Facilitate stakeholder communication, reporting and governance processes.
• Monitor budgets, costs and financial performance.
• Drive change management and user adoption while complying with regulatory and security requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant field (Honours or equivalent preferred).
• Project‑management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2.
• 8–10 years delivering complex IT or engineering projects, with at least 5 years in a senior project or programme role.
• Proven experience managing large‑scale transformation programmes and significant budgets.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Knowledge of data migration, system integration and platform implementation.
• Familiarity with non‑functional requirements including performance, security and resilience.
• Project‑management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) and related tools.
