IT Systems Analyst (Payments) – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

Our client, a leading financial institution, is looking for an experienced Systems Analyst to join the Transaction Banking team on a 6‑month contract. The role will initially support a strategic cross‑border payments project and later expand to a broader modernisation programme within Corporate & Investment Banking.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business and system requirements for payment solutions.
• Produce comprehensive functional and technical specifications for software developers.
• Create and maintain use‑case diagrams, business‑process diagrams, database/data‑model diagrams and system‑integration documentation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, developers, testers and project managers.
• Participate in solution design sessions and technical workshops.
• Ensure solutions align with business requirements, architecture standards and integration needs.
• Support system enhancements, integrations and modernisation initiatives within the payments environment.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Systems Analyst or Technical Business Analyst in banking or financial services.
• Hands‑on experience with cross‑border payments systems.
• Strong understanding of systems analysis methodologies and the SDLC.
• Experience producing high‑quality technical documentation for development teams.
• Ability to develop use‑case, process‑flow and data‑model diagrams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments.

Required skills

• UML modelling techniques.
• BPMN or equivalent process‑modelling.
• SQL and relational database design.
• API integration and enterprise application architecture.
• Use‑case, business‑process and data‑model diagram creation.
