IT Infrastructure Administrator (Bloemfontein)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive IT Infrastructure Administrator to join our Bloemfontein team at Clinglobal South Africa. In this hands‑on position you will ensure that servers, networks, cloud resources and backup systems remain reliable, secure and compliant, enabling our scientists to focus on animal‑health research.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain and optimise on‑premises and cloud servers, storage and network infrastructure for performance and availability.
• Manage firewalls, switches, routers and VPNs, as well as Azure and AWS resources, with a strong security focus.
• Execute proactive patch management, updates and troubleshooting to minimise downtime.
• Own backup, disaster‑recovery and restore processes, including regular testing to meet business‑continuity and regulatory requirements.
• Apply cybersecurity controls, assist with vulnerability assessments and respond to incidents according to established procedures.
• Maintain audit‑ready documentation, configuration records and change logs supporting GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11.
• Serve as escalation point for Tier 1 support, handling complex infrastructure issues and managing user access provisioning.
• Identify and implement improvements in reliability, security or efficiency and contribute to migration and upgrade projects.

Required profile

• Relevant IT qualification – diploma, advanced certificate or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Network Engineering.
• Proven experience administering on‑prem and cloud infrastructure in a regulated environment.
• Understanding of GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 compliance requirements.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and ability to document processes clearly.
