IT Field Engineer

About the role

Our client, a reputable IT solutions provider in Port Elizabeth, is looking for an experienced IT Field Engineer to join their technical team. You will deliver on‑site and remote support, ensuring the stability and performance of client IT environments.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, servers, networking devices and peripherals.
• Provide on‑site and remote technical support, diagnosing hardware, software and network issues.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Microsoft server environments, Office 365 and Exchange mail systems.
• Manage wireless networking, routing and network security solutions.
• Perform routine server and network maintenance and implement preventative measures.
• Assist with project planning, software deployments and ensure timely delivery.
• Lead and mentor junior technical staff, maintaining high service standards.
• Document technical activities, service reports and client records.

Required profile

• Relevant IT degree or diploma with industry certifications (A+, N+, MCSE) required.
• 3‑5 years of proven field support experience in an IT environment.
• Previous leadership, supervisory or project management experience.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable transport and ability to work independently under pressure.
