Inventory & Systems Manager – Pharmaceutical Distribution

About the role

Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is looking for an experienced Inventory & Systems Manager to oversee distribution centre inventory, drive stock accuracy and optimise warehouse operations. The role also includes responsibility for inventory reporting, system updates, issue resolution and audit preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily inventory operations such as cycle counting, receiving, put‑away, replenishment and storage.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical and system inventory to maintain stock accuracy.
• Oversee product shelf‑life, traceability, non‑conforming stock processes and support product recalls.
• Develop and implement warehouse processes and systems to improve efficiency and order processing.
• Ensure compliance with GMP/GWP standards, health and safety legislation and other regulatory requirements.
• Maintain inventory system integrity through testing, reporting, data analysis and continuous improvement.
• Optimise warehouse layout, space utilisation and stock levels to minimise loss or damage.
• Track operational metrics, KPIs and provide regular inventory reports to management.
• Lead inventory control staff, handling resource planning, performance management and coaching.

Required profile

• BSc in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a supply‑chain environment with 40+ employees.
• Proven experience supervising multiple supervisors.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, GWP, cGMP, GDP, OHS Act and ISO quality and safety standards.
• Analytical background with ability to conduct statistical and problem‑solving analysis.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
• Ability to work with database systems.
