Inventory Controller – Johannesburg

About the role

The company, a global pharmaceutical organisation, is looking for an Inventory Controller to manage end‑to‑end stock processes from its Johannesburg office. You will ensure that product availability aligns with market demand while preventing out‑of‑stock situations and excess inventory.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain stock accuracy by aligning the company’s inventory system with distributor data.
• Identify short‑dated or expired stock and coordinate disposal or write‑off actions.
• Ensure timely stock placement across locations to support sales activities.
• Oversee distributor inventory levels, including receipts, movements, destructions, cycle counts and reconciliations.
• Manage back‑order releases and monitor stock status.
• Support global logistics and inventory projects and ensure relevant training is completed.
• Forward product quality complaints, adverse events and medical enquiries to the appropriate quality or medical teams.

Required profile

• Relevant bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum five years of experience in warehouse, inventory or distribution within a pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time‑management and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
