Inventory Controller

About the role

The Inventory Controller ensures the integrity, accuracy and governance of inventory across a distribution centre. Working closely with Warehouse Operations, Planning, Manufacturing, Finance and Customer Service, the role supports operational efficiency, customer satisfaction and financial reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain inventory control processes that meet company policies and governance standards.
• Monitor inventory transactions, conduct stock verification, and reconcile discrepancies.
• Investigate inventory variances, implement corrective actions and support audit requirements.
• Manage the site’s cycle‑count programme, validate count results and coordinate full stock counts.
• Produce daily, weekly and monthly inventory performance reports and analyse KPIs.
• Collaborate with warehouse teams to improve handling practices and reduce stock losses.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, finance and customer service teams.
• Experience in inventory governance, stock reconciliation and variance investigation.
• Proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and process optimisation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of inventory management principles and cycle‑count methodologies.
• Familiarity with inventory reporting and KPI monitoring.
• Understanding of audit and compliance requirements related to stock.
