International Trader – Global Seafood Markets

About the role

The International Trader will manage the strategic sourcing, buying, selling and execution of trade opportunities for a global seafood company. This role links producers in multiple origin markets with customers worldwide, ensuring profitable transactions across borders.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and source profitable seafood products from diverse international origin markets.
• Develop and maintain global supplier and customer relationships.
• Structure and negotiate international sales agreements, supply contracts, Incoterms and payment terms.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end trade execution, including freight bookings, shipping schedules, customs documentation and delivery.
• Analyse pricing trends, supply‑demand dynamics, logistics costs and currency impacts.
• Manage commercial and financial risk through letters of credit, payment structures and currency exposure management.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and trade‑finance requirements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in international trading, preferably in the seafood sector.
• Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation and analytical decision‑making abilities.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, self‑motivated and results‑driven.
• Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/CRM systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of Incoterms.
• Experience with trade finance instruments (e.g., letters of credit).
• Customs compliance expertise.
• Foreign exchange risk management.
• Global logistics and freight planning.
