International Purchasing Intern

About the role

We are looking for a tech‑savvy International Purchasing Intern to support the procurement and importation of goods for resale. The role will involve market research, vendor networking, contract negotiation and coordination of deliveries across borders.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market research and identify reliable vendors and service providers.
• Negotiate contracts, prices and delivery terms to secure the best deals.
• Monitor purchase orders, track shipments and coordinate with planners, sales and warehouse teams.
• Inspect deliveries, handle invoice and price discrepancies, and manage returns.
• Evaluate carrier and vendor performance and recommend process improvements.
• Prepare and review proforma invoices, contracts and vendor agreements for accuracy.
• Maintain effective vendor relationships and ensure timely product availability.
• Provide cost‑comparison analyses and support reporting on purchasing activities.
• Coordinate overseas travel to meet potential clients and secure deals.
• Monitor stock levels and take actions to prevent stock‑outs.
