Internal Process Controller

About the role

The Internal Process Controller will lead and execute audits across multiple business units within Premier FMCG. Acting as the primary liaison with stakeholders, you will evaluate internal controls, assess risks, and guide junior team members while delivering accurate reports to the Governance & Internal Control Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Execute audit processes from planning to reporting in line with the prescribed framework.
• Complete tasks with integrity, professionalism, objectivity, and independence.
• Manage time and tasks, provide guidance to junior team members and review their work.
• Assist in drafting scope letters under manager supervision.
• Lead opening and closing audit meetings with confidence and accuracy.
• Apply risk‑based audit methodology to perform audits.
• Address manager review notes promptly and keep work on schedule.
• Communicate challenges and progress to the manager and stakeholders.
• Obtain an in‑depth understanding of processes, risks, and controls; populate the Risk and Control Matrix.
• Develop and submit high‑quality working papers.
• Use analytical skills to evaluate controls, prepare recommendations, and document findings.
• Execute test procedures per the Audit Program.
• Identify, document, and consolidate findings with junior team input.
• Plan and conduct timely follow‑up audits.
• Support risk management activities as delegated.

Required profile

• Relevant BCom/Internal Audit (essential).
• Relevant Honours Degree (essential).
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) (essential).
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) (desirable).
• 4–5 years of internal auditing experience (essential).
• Approximately 2 years of FMCG experience (desirable).
