Intern Buyer (CPT & JHB)

About the role

The Intern Buyer will support the procurement team in managing the full order lifecycle across our Cape Town and Johannesburg operations. This role offers hands‑on experience in sourcing, negotiating and coordinating supplier activities while developing analytical and commercial skills. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that purchasing activities align with business needs and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs) for a wide range of commodities.
• Process modifications to terms and conditions of purchase agreements.
• Review supplier proposals, negotiate prices and select the most suitable vendors.
• Analyse market trends and supplier performance to identify cost‑effective solutions.
• Track placed orders, verify deliveries and ensure timely payment approvals.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.

Required profile

• Highly organized, detail‑oriented team player.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in purchasing, inventory, or supply‑chain management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
