Intermediate Back-End / Full Stack Developer

About the role

We are looking for an intermediate‑level Back‑End / Full‑Stack Developer to join a global investment advisory firm in Cape Town. You will work on designing and building modern, high‑performance RESTful APIs while supporting existing .NET services, all within a collaborative, hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain RESTful Web APIs using .NET (C#) and .NET Core.
• Optimize relational data structures and write complex queries and stored procedures in Microsoft SQL Server.
• Apply SOLID principles and clean‑architecture patterns to ensure code quality and maintainability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and create unit and integration tests with xUnit/NUnit.
• Participate in peer code reviews and uphold coding standards.
• Communicate progress, risks and dependencies clearly with a geographically distributed team.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 + years of software development experience, primarily back‑end focused.
• Strong hands‑on experience with .NET (C#) Core and RESTful API development.
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including advanced query optimisation.
• Familiarity with Git workflows and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Experience in the financial domain is a plus.
• Exposure to modern front‑end frameworks such as Vue.js is an advantage.
