Interior Designer – Retail & Restaurant Projects

About the role

We are looking for an intermediate to senior Interior Designer to join a well‑established interior design firm that specialises in retail and restaurant environments in Johannesburg. The role involves taking projects from concept development through to technical documentation and on‑site implementation, delivering innovative, customer‑focused spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and present creative interior design concepts for retail and restaurant projects.
• Produce detailed technical drawings, construction documentation and drawing packages using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Manage projects through all design stages, from concept to completion.
• Prepare space‑planning layouts, design presentations, mood boards and material specifications.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and project teams.
• Conduct site visits, assist with implementation and ensure quality control.
• Deliver projects on time, within budget and to design standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or a related field.
• 5–10 years of professional interior design experience, preferably in retail.
• Experience on restaurant, hospitality or commercial projects is an advantage.
• Strong technical detailing and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
