Intellectual Property Associate

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Intellectual Property Associate with at least three years post‑qualification experience to join our trademark team. The role involves advising clients on IP matters, managing IP portfolios, and supporting enforcement and litigation activities across our global network.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on availability of trademarks, examination reports and third‑party oppositions.
• Manage registration, maintenance and enforcement processes for IP rights.
• Assist in the administration of IP portfolios and client relationships.
• Support IP litigation, dispute resolution and settlement negotiations.
• Draft commercial IP documents such as assignments and licence agreements.
• Conduct legal research, IP due diligence and audits, and work with CWB’s network of IP agents.
• Participate in enforcement actions for intellectual property rights.
• Develop and implement IP protection strategies for clients.

Required profile

• Admission as an attorney or solicitor (UK, US, EU, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand preferred).
• Top‑tier law‑firm experience in trademark portfolio management, prosecution and enforcement.
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience.
• Excellent written and spoken English; fluency in Arabic or other languages is advantageous.
• Prior Middle East experience is highly advantageous.
• Other languages are also advantageous.
