Insurance Consultant – Commercial Lines (Cape Town)

About the role

Santam Operations Commercial Contact Centre is seeking Insurance Consultants (JG10) based in Cape Town, Bellville. The role provides end‑to‑end service and support to intermediaries, handling quotations, policy issuance and query resolution for short‑term commercial lines.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to net profit and growth targets by delivering exceptional service to intermediaries.
• Provide telephone and email support to brokers and authorised representatives, analysing requests and issuing quotations.
• Initiate outbound calls to discuss quotations and convert leads into policies.
• Issue new business policies and ensure timely resolution of insurance queries in line with compliance and underwriting criteria.
• Manage client expectations on turnaround times and adhere to workforce management principles to optimise productivity.
• Stand in for colleagues during busy periods and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12 with 60 FAIS credits for commercial lines.
• Minimum 3 years experience in short‑term commercial insurance.
• Relevant insurance qualification (e.g., NQF Level 4) – advantageous.
• Tertiary qualification – advantageous.
• Preferable experience in agriculture – advantageous.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills and ability to adhere to quality, compliance and accreditation standards.
