About the role

Join the Maintenance department of Prestige Clothing as an Industrial Sewing Machine Mechanic. You will be responsible for keeping a range of sewing equipment running smoothly in a fast‑paced apparel production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain industrial sewing machines and allied equipment.
• Set up, test‑run and commission machines before production.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and update reports.
• Perform routine running maintenance and adhere to preventative maintenance schedules.
• Coach and assist learner mechanics on technical tasks.
• Collect and manage technical data for machinery.
• Execute folder repairs and support other maintenance department activities.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of experience maintaining industrial sewing machines in a clothing production setting.
• NQF4 qualification in sewing‑machine repairs and maintenance or an equivalent qualification (advantageous).
• Ability to work in a team, handle additional hours when required, and operate under pressure.
• Proficient reading and writing in English.
• Target‑driven with a quick‑turnaround approach.
