Independent Emergency Medicine Doctor

About the role

We are seeking an independent medical practitioner with strong expertise in emergency medicine. The role involves managing a wide range of emergencies, from paediatric cases to toxicology and major trauma, within a hospital emergency department.

Key responsibilities

• Manage patients in the emergency department and respond to code blues.
• Order and perform diagnostic investigations.
• Stabilise patients and perform emergency procedures.
• Refer patients to appropriate specialists when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBCH/MBCHB).
• Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as an Independent Medical Practitioner.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certifications (advantageous).
• Ultrasound proficiency (advantageous).
• Professional medical indemnity coverage (mandatory).
