Inbound Controller – Warehouse Operations

About the role

The Inbound Controller will lead the inbound team and oversee daily stock receipt, ensuring compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and key performance indicators. This role is central to maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting efficient warehouse operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily inbound stock according to prescribed procedures and maximise accuracy of the stock file.
• Ensure all health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Escalate non‑delivery issues to planners within the defined process.
• Oversee yard utilisation using the Yard Management System.
• Coordinate put‑aways for full and mixed pallets to meet KPI targets.
• Confirm master data on first delivery and communicate with regional and central teams.
• Record all transactions in the Warehouse Management System and ensure correct integration with the ERP.
• Identify and claim shortages from suppliers and communicate with stock controllers.
• Reject over‑supplied stock and liaise with suppliers and procurement.
• Assist with supplier returns, recalls, and manufacturer claims.
• Process supplier claims and ensure stock is claimed before disposal.
• Compile and submit daily and weekly reports.
• Manage the Chep account and conduct monthly stock takes, resolving issues promptly.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar inbound or warehouse control role.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems is an advantage.
