ICU Unit Manager – Hospital Group (Kimberley, Northern Cape)

About the role

The Unit Manager will lead the Intensive Care Unit, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care while supporting a multidisciplinary team. You will be accountable for clinical governance, capacity building, and continuous improvement within the unit.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, cost‑effective, evidence‑based patient care in line with Lenmed’s clinical governance strategy.
• Evaluate patient journeys and stakeholder feedback to improve service delivery.
• Monitor nursing quality indicators and clinical outcomes.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families about care plans.
• Promote health and wellbeing of patients and staff.
• Enforce infection‑prevention standards and international precautions.
• Implement group quality initiatives and liaise with public liability on risk incidents.

Required profile

• Relevant nursing qualification (B Cur Degree or equivalent) and a post‑basic ICU qualification.
• 3‑5 years’ experience as a Unit Manager or shift leader in an ICU setting.
• Compliance with the SANC code for Registered Nurses and applicable health legislation.
• BLS certification and computer literacy; knowledge of Kronos is advantageous.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts.
