ICU Trained Unit Manager – Kimberley

About the role

The ICU Trained Unit Manager will lead the intensive care unit at a hospital in Kimberley, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care in line with hospital standards. Reporting to senior management, you will oversee nursing staff, manage rosters and maintain compliance with health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise ICU nursing staff and ensure adherence to shift rosters.
• Provide direct assistance with clinical procedures, including intubation support.
• Conduct handover reports at the start of each shift.
• Audit patient health records for compliance and accuracy.
• Manage inventory, control stock levels and ensure proper charging and crediting.
• Promote patient health, wellbeing and education.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of management experience in an ICU setting.
• Registered Nurse with the South African Nursing Council.
• Post‑Basic ICU qualification.
• Computer literate and flexible to work rotating shifts.
• Ability to implement and maintain health practice standards and legislation.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification (advantageous).
