About the role
Mintek is seeking a Hygiene Operator to maintain a clean and orderly environment across its facilities. The role involves routine cleaning, waste management, and reporting of maintenance needs to ensure a safe and pleasant workplace.
Key responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, scrub and vacuum building floors.
- Clean windows, glass partitions and mirrors using appropriate solutions.
- Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to avoid damage.
- Collect and empty dustbins and shredders.
- Service, deep‑clean and disinfect all surfaces, including restrooms.
- Requisition cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Notify managers of major repairs or additions to building systems.
Required profile
- Minimum Matric/Grade 12 education.
- A reasonable level of physical fitness.
- Punctual, reliable and trustworthy.
- Awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Experience in cleaning or related field is advantageous.
Required skills
- Operation of floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners and window‑cleaning equipment.
