Hybrid Plant Manager

About the role

You will lead the operations and maintenance of a newly commissioned hybrid renewable energy facility that combines Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The position is hands‑on, with a focus on safety, plant availability and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day O&M of the hybrid plant, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Manage outsourced O&M contractors and coordinate HV/MV system activities.
• Oversee plant safety, maintenance planning, CMMS usage, budgeting and warranty management.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Prepare stakeholder reports and monitor plant KPIs.

Required profile

• National Diploma (NQF 6) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in power generation, electrical infrastructure or renewable‑energy operations.
• Proven leadership ability to build and manage high‑performing teams.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with contractors.
