HR Generalist – Site Operations

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on HR Generalist to provide end‑to‑end HR support on a large‑scale renewable energy project site. You will work closely with site management, contractors and head‑office teams to ensure compliance, accurate reporting and smooth workforce operations.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and maintain daily, weekly and monthly HR reports, tracking headcount, absenteeism, overtime and Employment Equity statistics.
• Maintain accurate HR records, dashboards and reporting templates.
• Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and off‑boarding processes.
• Assist with inductions, onboarding documentation and access‑control procedures.
• Manage disciplinary processes, grievances and employee‑relations matters.
• Advise site teams and contractors on HR and industrial‑relations issues.
• Coordinate training records, compliance reporting and mandatory skills development.
• Verify payroll inputs, including timesheets, overtime and allowances.
• Maintain audit‑ready HR documentation and filing systems.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• 3–5 years of HR Generalist experience in construction, mining, energy, industrial or other site‑based environments.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, Employment Equity).
• Proven ability to handle employee‑relations and disciplinary processes.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reporting and analytics.
• Computer literacy with strong data‑management capabilities.
