Hotel Maintenance Manager/Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Maintenance Manager/Supervisor to ensure the safety, operational condition and reliability of the hotel’s buildings, facilities and equipment. The role involves coordinating both preventative and reactive maintenance, leading the maintenance team and managing external contractors to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day maintenance of all hotel buildings, facilities and equipment.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate preventative, planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Identify and respond promptly to breakdowns, faults and urgent maintenance issues.
• Supervise, allocate and monitor the daily workload of the maintenance team.
• Manage contractors, suppliers and external service providers, including quotation evaluation and procurement support.
• Monitor and maintain key building systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical and general infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, schedules and service documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety regulations and address related risks.
• Control maintenance costs, stock levels and parts requirements.
• Prepare regular maintenance reports for management and highlight recurring issues.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent; technical or trade qualification is advantageous.
• 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience in maintenance, facilities or engineering.
• Proven ability to lead a maintenance team and coordinate contractors.
• Practical, hands‑on experience with building and facilities maintenance.
• Understanding of health‑and‑safety requirements and a valid driver’s licence is a plus.
