Hospital Porter – Patient Transport & Support

About the role
Mediclinic is seeking a reliable Porter to ensure safe and efficient movement of patients, equipment, and documents throughout the hospital. You will play a vital part in supporting clinical teams and maintaining high standards of patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Transport and escort patients safely to predetermined locations.
- Assist with evacuations during emergency situations.
- Perform driver duties as required, following hospital guidelines.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of patient rights and Mediclinic values.
Required profile
- Essential education: Grade 10.
- Minimum experience in client services or public-facing roles.
- Preferred experience in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to read, speak and write English.
Required skills
- Licence with PDP.
- Knowledge of patient rights charter.
- Kinetic handling principles.
- Understanding of medico‑legal risks.
- Proficiency with two‑way radio systems.
- Computer literacy – Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with internal emergency evacuation plans.
- Knowledge of administrative tasks and Health & Safety Act regulations.
