Hospital Case Manager - Accounts

About the role

The Hospital Case Manager – Accounts will coordinate the case management process within Mediclinic Muelmed, ensuring accurate and timely clinical information is shared with all stakeholders. The role focuses on minimising financial risk for the organisation while supporting patient care and reimbursement processes.

Key responsibilities

• Minimise financial risk by effectively managing patient stays.
• Ensure compliance with case management procedures, contracts and legal requirements.
• Finalise cases promptly to facilitate reimbursements from funders.
• Communicate consistently with funders through agreed case management channels.
• Adhere to clinical coding standards as per Level 3 coding guidelines.
• Lead and manage members of the Case Management team where applicable.

Required profile

• Clinical qualification (Registered Nurse, Professional Nurse or qualified Paramedic).
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a clinical role, preferably in theatre, ICU or private healthcare.
• Experience with medical‑aid contracts or ILS/ALS paramedic work is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using patient administration programmes on the AS400 system.
• Knowledge of clinical coding and related statutory acts.
