Health and Safety Internship

About the role

Takealot, South Africa's leading online retailer, is seeking a motivated Health and Safety Intern to join its Cape Town distribution centres. The role offers exposure to operational data analysis, project coordination, and cross‑functional collaboration in a fast‑growing e‑commerce environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyse, interpret, and present operational data to support decision‑making and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering and operational projects.
• Prepare clear reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams including Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, IT, Facilities, and Health & Safety.
• Support the development, review, and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
• Monitor operational performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and assist in identifying improvement opportunities.
• Participate in problem‑solving initiatives by identifying root causes, proposing practical solutions, and supporting implementation.

Required profile

• N6 qualification in Health and Safety (or equivalent).
• No prior work experience required – entry‑level internship.
