Head Strategy Management

About the role

The Central Bank of Lesotho is seeking a Head of Strategy Management to lead short‑term and long‑term planning, translate the Governor’s vision into actionable plans, and ensure performance targets are met across the institution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of the Bank’s business strategy, operating model and strategic plans aligned with its mission.
• Coordinate annual performance planning for all departments to ensure consistent execution of strategy.
• Develop, review and implement internal strategy tools, procedures and standards.
• Collaborate with strategic teams to align budgets and long‑term financial strategies with sustainability objectives.
• Establish measurable KPIs and quality‑assurance mechanisms to track progress against organisational goals.
• Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports for executive management and the Board.
• Identify strategic risks and coordinate contingency planning.
• Support the Governor in translating strategic vision into day‑to‑day operational activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with domestic and international stakeholders.
• Lead and manage the Strategy Division, including staff appraisals and capacity development.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Strategic Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum seven years of experience in organisational strategy management, managerial or strategic leadership roles.
• Experience in a strategy‑focused environment is an advantage.
