About the role
This senior position leads the new‑business function for a leading courier and logistics provider in South Africa. Reporting to the Commercial Executive, you will shape growth strategy, acquire new clients and drive revenue across the market.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive new‑business sales strategy to meet ambitious growth targets.
- Lead, mentor and manage a high‑performing team of 14 sales professionals.
- Identify and secure new clients, markets and commercial opportunities.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer profitability to inform pricing and go‑to‑market decisions.
- Monitor pipeline health, ensure revenue targets are achieved and align sales structures with cost‑to‑serve models.
- Collaborate with marketing, operations and product teams to strengthen market visibility and support targeted campaigns.
- Participate in senior leadership and executive planning forums.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field.
- 8–10 years of experience in sales, business development or commercial roles.
- 4–5 years in a senior leadership position with proven new‑business growth results.
- Experience in courier, logistics, transport or B2B services.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical and negotiation capabilities.
Required skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
