Head of Finance

About the role

Evolution Recruitment is seeking a Head of Finance to lead the financial strategy, operations, governance and compliance for its African business headquartered in Century City, Cape Town. This senior, in‑office position will partner with the executive team to drive growth across multiple African jurisdictions within a fast‑growing FinTech and iGaming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the financial strategy for the African business, including planning, forecasting and performance analysis.
• Oversee all finance functions – accounting, budgeting, reporting, treasury and cash‑flow management.
• Implement and continuously improve internal controls, financial policies and governance frameworks.
• Provide commercial decision support and present financial results to senior leadership.
• Support expansion initiatives and financial decision‑making across multiple African jurisdictions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CA(SA) or equivalent qualification highly advantageous.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership roles.
• Experience in regulated industries such as FinTech or iGaming is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, South African tax legislation and statutory reporting requirements.
• Understanding of South African regulatory frameworks, including gambling‑related regulations where applicable.
