Head of Finance (CA(SA) Qualified)

About the role

The Head of Finance will lead the Group Financial Manager in day‑to‑day financial management, ensuring robust governance, accurate reporting and compliance across the organisation. Reporting to the CFO, the role combines strategic oversight of budgeting, forecasting, treasury, taxation and audit with hands‑on leadership of the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Support the CFO in executing the company’s financial strategy and deliver timely, value‑adding financial information.
• Review annual financial statements, consolidate group accounts and ensure compliance with IFRS, the Companies Act and tax legislation.
• Oversee budgeting, rolling forecasts and long‑term financial plans, analysing variances and presenting results to the Executive Committee and Board.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity, banking relationships and capital planning initiatives.
• Maintain internal controls, SOPs and governance frameworks, identifying risks and driving finance transformation projects.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors, tax advisors and regulatory bodies to ensure audit readiness and statutory compliance.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) qualification.
• 10–15 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance management role.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary finance teams and experience in property development, real estate, hospitality or construction sectors is advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation.
• Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and treasury management.
• Cash flow management and financial modelling.
• Corporate governance, risk management and audit coordination.
• ERP systems such as Sage, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Experience with AI‑driven process automation (optional).
