Head of Department: Emerging Technologies

About the role

Richfield is seeking a visionary academic leader to head its Department of Emerging Technologies. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on teaching across both contact and distance‑learning platforms, shaping curriculum at the intersection of AI, data science, and cybersecurity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute departmental strategies aligned with institutional goals.
• Lead curriculum innovation, balancing theoretical rigor with industry relevance.
• Manage academic and support staff across multiple campuses and online environments.
• Teach 12–15 hours per week and maintain direct student engagement.
• Oversee quality assurance, assessment, and moderation processes.
• Build and sustain industry partnerships to improve graduate outcomes.
• Administer departmental budgets and resource allocation.
• Foster a research‑focused culture and mentor staff in emerging technology domains.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (PhD highly desirable or in progress).
• Minimum five years of higher‑education experience with academic leadership responsibilities.
• Proven research record and publications in AI, data science, cybersecurity, or related areas.
• Experience delivering 12–15 hours of lecturing per week within multi‑module programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor academic staff.
• Willingness to be based at a national campus.
