Handyman

About the role

Hyde Johannesburg Rosebank, a lifestyle hotel brand described as a festival-inspired food lovers' destination with 131 rooms, is looking for a full-time handyman. The role covers keeping facilities and equipment in good repair, performing maintenance and repairs, and responding promptly to guest requests.

Key responsibilities

• Keep furniture, facilities and equipment clean, in good repair and well maintained, replacing or refurbishing them as needed
• Carry out preventative maintenance, installations, repairs and troubleshooting on refrigeration and electrical systems and general facilities
• Perform rotation cleaning duties as required
• Report accidents or equipment damage immediately and respond to breakdowns promptly
• Attend to guest requests and inquiries courteously and efficiently, and complete logistics duties with minimal disruption to guests
• Leave work areas clean and report lost guest property
• Follow quality standards, complete required paperwork and suggest improvements to management
• Maintain storage facilities and be familiar with the operation of departmental machines, equipment and tools

Required profile

• Qualified electrician, mechanic or plumber with a recognised trade test
• Experience in advanced facilities and equipment maintenance
• Intermediate-level knowledge of equipment and facilities maintenance
• Effective communication in English
• Ability to work safely and effectively under pressure
