Handyman – General Maintenance & Repairs

About the role

The Handyman will be responsible for a wide range of general maintenance, fabric repairs and building work across multiple sites. This role ensures that all maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently and in line with company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance tasks including carpentry, basic electrical work, plumbing, painting, tiling, flooring, waterproofing and roofing.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and respond to reactive maintenance requests and breakdowns.
• Log all work orders daily, maintain workshop cleanliness and provide after‑hours support when required.
• Construct cupboards, shelving, install ceiling boards, cornices, picture frames, door hardware and perform minor furniture repairs.
• Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces, perform road and parking line marking, and conduct minor touch‑ups.
• Assist with meeting‑room setups, office moves and relocation activities.
• Conduct bi‑monthly inspections across designated sites and log faults via the Helpdesk system.
• Adhere to SHEQ policies, ISO standards and workplace safety procedures.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar maintenance environment.
• Strong customer‑service background with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
