Graphic Designer X2 (Marketing)

About the role

Icebolethu Group, a funeral assurance group and authorised financial service provider, is looking for two permanent Graphic Designers within its Marketing Department, based in the Durban branch. The successful candidates will create visually striking and effective designs that communicate the brand's message and values.

Key responsibilities

• Study design briefs and determine requirements
• Conceptualise visuals and prepare rough drafts, then present ideas
• Create images and layouts by hand or with design software, developing illustrations, logos and other designs
• Choose the right colours and layouts for each graphic and use the appropriate digital design formats such as social media and newsletters
• Work with copywriters and the creative director to produce the final design
• Test graphics across various media and amend designs after feedback
• Schedule projects and ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or a related field
• At least 3 years of work experience, including 2-3 years in graphic design
• Strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
• Knowledge of brand identity design
• Teamwork, keen eye for detail, ability to meet deadlines, good communication and organisation skills

Required skills

• Familiarity with design software such as InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Familiarity with project management tools
