Graduate Settlements Officer – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

This entry‑level position is designed for a recent graduate eager to start a career in investment operations. You will support trade matching and settlement across multiple asset classes, working closely with investment managers, brokers and custodians.

Key responsibilities

• Capture, process, match and settle investment transactions on internal systems.
• Support settlement of equities, fixed income, unit trusts, derivatives, FX and other products.
• Prepare and process manual settlement instructions when required.
• Verify trade information from managers, brokers and counterparties for accuracy.
• Submit settlement instructions to custodians within deadlines.
• Maintain broker, counterparty and settlement data.
• Investigate and resolve trade‑related queries from clients and internal teams.
• Assist with incident reporting, operational documentation and ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Completed tertiary qualification in Finance, Investments, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Commerce or related field.
• Recent graduate or up to 1 year of relevant experience.
• Strong academic record and interest in financial markets.
• Basic exposure to financial services, investment management or fund administration (internships, part‑time work).
