Graduate Internship Programme – Engineering Students

About the role

Thembisile Hani Local Municipality is launching a Graduate Internship Programme aimed at engineering students. The six‑month placement provides in‑service training for candidates who are completing their Civil Engineering qualifications. Interns will work on the construction of the Suncity “A” Bus Route in Ward 19, gaining practical experience in municipal infrastructure projects. The programme does not guarantee permanent employment after completion, but offers a structured learning environment and a stipend to support the intern during the assignment. Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae, a certified copy of their identity document and certified academic qualifications. The application deadline is 30 January 2025. Successful candidates will be placed under the supervision of senior municipal engineers and will be expected to contribute to project documentation, site visits, and basic engineering calculations.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (or equivalent).
• Currently studying Civil Engineering or has completed a TVET National Qualification (N5/N6).

What we offer

• Six‑month internship agreement (not an employment contract).
