Graduate Internship Program – 2026/27

About the role

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) is offering a Graduate Internship Programme for the 2026/27 year. This 12‑month placement gives recent graduates hands‑on exposure to the agency’s core functions and the chance to contribute to national revenue management.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced professionals across various departments to support ongoing projects and daily operations.
• Participate in training sessions, workshops and seminars to build sector‑specific knowledge.
• Assist in research, data analysis and the preparation of reports as required by the host department.
• Provide fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to improve processes and efficiencies.
• Engage in cross‑functional activities to understand different facets of SARS operations.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (within two years) with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, Information Technology, Human Resources or a related field.
• Strong academic record, minimum bachelor’s degree (honours or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Analytical mindset with creative problem‑solving skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for contributing to South Africa’s revenue management.
