About the role

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is offering a one‑year Graduate Development Programme for recent post‑graduates. Participants will rotate through key functions of the central bank, receive formal training at the SARB Academy, and contribute to the institution’s mandate of price stability and financial system resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in economic research, policy analysis and financial modelling projects.
• Support the supervision of banks and the implementation of monetary policy.
• Contribute to public finance, risk management and treasury operations.
• Engage with cross‑functional teams to develop analytical reports for senior decision‑makers.

Required profile

• South African citizenship.
• Completed postgraduate degree with at least 65% average.
• Strong interest in financial services, economics or policy making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
