General Workers – 27 Positions

About the role

The South African Police Service is recruiting 27 general workers to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across multiple police stations and support offices. Candidates will be responsible for routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and handling of cleaning supplies in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of hygiene by cleaning police premises, including dusting, polishing furniture and floors, vacuuming carpets, and mopping tiles.
• Remove refuse, clean bathrooms and kitchens, and perform basic maintenance tasks around the assigned locations.
• Load and unload goods, handle cleaning aids and equipment, and ensure proper storage of supplies.

Required profile

• South African citizenship with documentary proof at interview.
• Adult Basic Education and Training Level 4 / Grade 9 certificate (NQF Level 1) with proof.
• Proficiency in English and at least one other official language.
• Demonstrated competency in core functions of the post.

Required skills

• Understanding of how to handle cleaning detergents.
• Ability to operate elementary machines and equipment.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety protocols.
• Basic literacy, numeracy and communication abilities.
