General Worker – Retail & Mechanisation Positions in South Africa

About the role

VKB Commercial Services is hiring general workers for its GWK Retail and NTK Mechanisation divisions across several sites in South Africa. The role involves supporting daily operations in retail stores and mechanised environments, handling stock, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting customers and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general support services and perform cleaning and housekeeping duties.
• Assist with loading, off‑loading, and movement of stock, including stock control activities.
• Maintain shelf care, perform mail handling, and support security and loss‑control initiatives.
• Handle irrigation materials and equipment where applicable.
• Assist customers and suppliers and carry out other labour‑related tasks as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Basic reading and writing skills; minimum Grade 10 (Grade 12 preferred for Cradock).
• Grade 12 or NQF 4 qualification for NTK positions.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work and willingness to work overtime and weekends.
• Previous retail, warehouse or agricultural experience is advantageous.
• Good communication, reliability, punctuality and a team‑oriented attitude.
