General Worker – Electrical Section (Entry Level)

About the role
This entry‑level position is designed to give unemployed residents of Midvaal a chance to work in the municipality’s electrical section. It targets semi‑skilled candidates with basic electrical and physical‑labour experience, with preference given to former EPWP workers.
Key responsibilities
- Load and unload materials and equipment safely using protective gear.
- Place traffic signs during road‑side excavations to protect workers and the public.
- Clean the work area with brooms and manual tools to maintain a tidy environment.
- Carry out any labour tasks assigned by the supervisor or superintendent.
- Follow all legal and safety instructions from supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform ad‑hoc duties as required by management.
Required profile
- Minimum education: Grade 10 (Grade 12 is an advantage).
- Valid driver’s licence (advantageous).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; must be bilingual.
- Resident of Midvaal; applicants from neighbouring municipalities are disqualified.
