General Manager – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

Belmar Personnel is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a well‑established South African metal component manufacturer. This hands‑on role combines factory‑floor leadership with strategic oversight, reporting directly to the Board of Directors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and drive business performance.
• Implement operational discipline, workflow optimisation and production planning.
• Mentor managers and supervisors, building a high‑performance culture.
• Lead commercial activities, customer relationship management and business development.
• Oversee financial performance, budgeting and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with labour legislation, safety, quality and continuous‑improvement standards.

Required profile

• 8–15 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years in senior operational leadership.
• Proven track record in metal spinning, stamping, fabrication or related manufacturing processes.
• Relevant engineering, manufacturing, operations or business degree.
• Ability to solve operational challenges, make decisions on the shop floor and in the boardroom.
• Strong customer focus and a commitment to developing people.
