General Ledger Accountant – Finance & Accounting

About the role

The General Ledger Accountant supports accounting and finance operations for Marriott's administrative entities across the continent, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local standards. The role also provides detailed reporting, analysis, and assistance with entity‑related administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day accounting duties such as balance‑sheet reconciliation, journal posting, accruals, VAT reconciliation and fixed‑asset maintenance.
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports in line with US GAAP and local accounting standards.
• Support compliance initiatives, audit preparation and documentation for assigned EMEA entities.
• Participate in process‑improvement projects and recommend efficiencies for diverse regional requirements.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc projects and special assignments as directed by senior finance leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field; qualified accountant preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, including exposure to US GAAP.
• Experience with accounting software (PeopleSoft/Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
