General Foreman – Johannesburg

About the role

We are looking for an experienced General Foreman to support the Site Agent / Site Manager on warehouse construction projects in Johannesburg. The role is hands‑on, overseeing daily site activities from greenfield build through to final handover while ensuring safety, quality and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily construction activities, subcontractors and tradesmen.
• Implement instructions from the Site Agent/Manager and promptly raise any issues.
• Monitor logistics, material deliveries and warehouse resource allocation.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental standards; conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Participate in site setup, inspections, measurement, progress tracking and reporting.
• Prepare site records, diaries and supporting documentation.
• Provide clear updates to management and maintain communication with teams, subcontractors and suppliers.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of construction site supervision experience.
• Extensive experience in warehouse construction from ground‑up to handover.
• Strong knowledge of South African construction standards and JBCC contracts.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in site documentation and basic MS Project usage.
