General Assistant – Production Support

About the role

Aspen Holdings is looking for a General Assistant to support production operations at its Port Elizabeth facility. The role involves preparing work areas, handling raw materials, and assisting with quality and safety procedures in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, clean, and inspect work areas and equipment.
• Handle and stage raw materials for processing.
• Sample work areas and equipment for contamination and sanitize drains and pipes.
• Perform related administrative tasks.
• Execute production activities adhering to established policies, quality, and safety standards.
• Optimize work processes and identify procedural gaps.
• Conduct visual inspections and pre‑production checks as per SOPs.
• Verify scale and measuring equipment performance.
• Dispense, transfer, weigh, and collect raw materials.
• Set up rooms and IBCs, and prepare solutions according to SOPs.
• Clean work areas before and after material processing and perform routine equipment checks.
• Control contamination, assist in minimizing waste, and provide information for campaign preparation.
• Complete batch record labels, OEE sheets, and conduct half‑hourly inspections.
• Attend shift meetings and maintain/update records and systems.

Required profile

• National Certification (N3 Engineering).
• 0‑2 years of related experience.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.

Required skills

• Basic technical knowledge of pharmaceutical production processes, procedures, systems, and equipment.
• Fundamental understanding of pharmaceutical standards and compliance requirements.
