General Assistant (External Applications Only)

About the role

General Assistant (External Applications Only) – Cashbuild. Full‑time role based in the Northern Cape, South Africa. The position involves providing comprehensive customer service, merchandising, and maintaining store standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure comprehensive customer service in store and assist customers with product queries.
• Merchandise stock, label shelves, and maintain housekeeping within the designated area.
• Advise customers, resolve complaints, and ensure safe layout of bulk stock area.
• Keep the area free of obstacles, merchandise received stock immediately, and maintain safety compliance.
• Complete checklists for canteen and toilet/shower schedules and report discrepancies to the Store Manager.
• Manage stock loss and report damaged stock within the area of responsibility.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 with 1 year work experience, or Grade 12 without experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language.
• Valid South African ID or work permit.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays, and ability to work under pressure.
