General Assistant – BUCO Business Unit

About the role

The Business Unit (BUCO) of The Building Company is seeking a General Assistant to support day‑to‑day operations across the unit. This permanent, on‑site role involves a mix of customer service, vehicle handling and basic logistics tasks while upholding company policies and values.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customers with their orders and assist with enquiries.
• Load and unload vehicles, ensuring safe handling of goods.
• Manage pack‑yard stock items, including organization and inventory checks.
• Clean, safeguard and perform wash‑bay activities for company vehicles.
• Offer assistance to both customers and suppliers as needed.
• Maintain a tidy work environment and follow safety procedures.
• Promote and embody the company’s culture and values.

Required profile

• Minimum education: Grade 12 (high school diploma).
• Basic product knowledge relevant to the business unit.
• Flexibility to work in any area of the unit and follow company policies.
